What about Clifton anyway? I have been searching for some history about Clifton but it is hard to come by. Is it called Clifton because it is near the Bookcliffs or because it is near the cliff where Orchard Mesa drops into the Colorado River? I am not sure of much about Clifton.
I do know that Clifton was associated with some large orchards most notably the Red Cross Orchards now called just Cross Orchards and now a living history museum. I do know that Clifton is a huge bedroom community for the Grand Valley (I had a bedroom there for a few years myself) and it does have its own Zip Code but I would love to hear some of its interesting and colorful history and I am sure it has some, every place does.
